The main message of my work is to illustrate and express the painful emotions of a broken communication when words hurt.

Each of the 3 images composes of a communicating device, ink, and glass, which represent the agressor, the words, and a fragile glass heart that burst and shattered apart from the impact of the words from the devices.

 

Progressively, each communicating device also symbolises the different generations from the past to the present. This is to show that the problem with miscommunication is a real issue till today; “ a battle that cannot be won.”

 

In the Heart of Things, “Human beings do not live in the objective world alone, nor alone in the world of social activity as ordinarily understood, but are very much at the mercy of the particular language which has become the medium of expression for their society.” Humans are at the mercy of communication.
